reflection

observation:
the reflection of a white written paper on the black bowl.
it is interesting to look a straight thing in a curved way.
things become lies, and lie about the truth.

still life painting

the painting for my painting class
it's a huge painting for me.
i never painted that big before.
it took me plenty of time to kind of finished it.
but i know that, i can make it looks more prefect if i have more time.

new york's gummy

since i loved gummy candy so much,
my friend bought me a glass of gummy bears from New York.
and they tasted extremely great, much better than the gummy bears in Winco and Walmart.
in the glass, there were not only gummy bears and gummy babies,
also had supper babies, so tiny in the corner.
candies looked fancy in this shape of container.
things seem could have a different look by the surrounding objects and space.

the line i found on the bottle of lenses cleanser.

the way to look

it is inside the room next to sculpture room.
i like the way to look at it.
one point perspective.
Lines start to disappear in the very far end;
the negative space become more blurred with the distance.
the white covered layer also shows the hard working of many artists.

golden rain

it's snowing; it's raining.
neither in white nor transparent,
but in golden light at light.
shining around the passerby.

fish~

my breakfast today.
this is a Japanese food made by flour and red bean inside.
this kind of food is similar to clay modeling (?)
all the fishes come out from the same mold.
if the mold is not perfect enough, the flour will be blocked.
same idea as the clay making~ =]

change。fixed

i made this in my friend's car.
i tore off the candy sheet into pieces, and then stick them onto the window.
when the car kept moving forward,
the background kept changing.
and now, an artwork can have unlimited background with the fixed objects. =]

same but different

i have two cute stuffed monsters named Domo.
one is larger and one is way smaller.
when things have the same face but in different sizes,
this view create some kinds of communication.
and i really like this relationship of being same and different.
it makes thing becomes more than just an individual object to be look at,
but more about their secret conversation.

cookie VS sculpture

this lovely home-made star cookie just born in tonight.
that was so easy to cut the star shape out.
also, after the cookie was baked, it would have nice smooth surface.
however, oil clay was so different.
oil clay is hard to make the desired shape, and
the finger prints and imperfect surface will still last on the sculpture after it dried.
how come the oil clay cannot be the cookie that easy make!?

leaving.

she is not my cat, but she have stayed here for a few days.
now, it's time for her to leave my house,
since her real master have come back to Pullman.
she always attract me by her grape-like eyes,
so dark and round.
also, she takes all the focus on her in this white winter.

black white B W

this view was on the way to my friend's house, which closed to south side cafe, i guessed.
these stairs were just so lovely with the contract of black and white,
smooth and rough, snow on and snow off,
also nature's work and human's work.
it was cool to show how humans shape the nature based on our settlement's needs.
humans are hard to walk on smooth surface,
so just make the easier roads.
and ya, we are able to shape what we need, and what we want.

Dear Gummy

my dear gummy bears,
they have stayed with me since i was three.
i just finished 5 lbs gummy bears within a month, and now i am getting another 5 lbs.
they have stayed with me, whenever i was sad or happy.
they don't have details on their face, and their limbs and their ears barely can be seen,
but these unclear feathers make them look cute and contain illusion.
even though they are just gummy candies,
their relationship between one and other still can be classified,
such as a mother and a baby bear in the picture.
